Faced with competition from the USA and Canada, from Gulfstream and Bombardier respectively, Dassault had to respond! And to put everyone on the same page, the French aircraft manufacturer is unveiling the Falcon 10X, its largest business jet ever. It is scheduled to enter service at the end of 2025.
Is the Falcon 10X the best ultra-long-haul business jet? Unquestionably yes!
While Dassault’s military business is doing well, with the signing of a new mega-contract in Egypt for the purchase of 30 Rafale jets worth 3.5 billion euros, the civil sector is lagging behind. The civil business aircraft market is dominated by the Americans with Gulfstream and the Canadians with Bombardier.
To boost sales of its business jets, Dassault Falcon is bringing out the heavy artillery, the very heavy artillery, to make its mark. The long-awaited result is the majestic Falcon 10X, the largest business jet in its history. Due to enter service at the end of 2025, this new business jet boasts a host of assets. A range of 13,890 km, enough to fly non-stop from Paris to Tokyo or New York to Bangalore! A cabin with a diameter of 2.90 meters and a maximum height of 2.05 meters. VIPs will be able to move easily “laterally and not only in the axis of the fuselage”, assures the French manufacturer. The Falcon 10X’s cabins also feature 38 extra-large windows. This will naturally illuminate all living spaces.
The price of the Falcon 10X has not been publicly disclosed, but according to sources, its list price is around 75 million dollars, or 62 million euros. Would this be the same price as the Gulfstream G700 (13,890 km range), for the same services?
