Bugatti Chiron Profilée: The Most Expensive Chiron in History
On February 1, 2023, an exceptional auction took place, organized by the house of RM Sotheby’s in Paris, at the Carrousel du Louvre. Among the many lots, there was a unique Bugatti Chiron, the Bugatti Chiron Profilée.
No need to rush, at the time of writing these lines, the sale is over. The result: a Bugatti Chiron sold for over €9.7 million. To be exact, for €9,792,500! Thus becoming the most expensive Chiron ever sold!
Tuesday, February 1, 2023, was therefore the unique and ultimate opportunity for wealthy collectors to acquire the last Bugatti equipped with the legendary W16 engine of the brand. With this sale, the hyperluxe car manufacturer is ending the dynasty of W16 engines. Hello hybridization.
Bugatti Chiron Profilée : 1 of 1
As you may have guessed, to be featured in an auction, this model had to be unique, and it is. This Chiron Profilée bears the serial number « VF9NC3V36NM795004 » and features an interior upholstered in woven leather on the central console, dashboard, door panels, and rear medallion. The seats are upholstered in quilted « Gris Rafale » and « Deep Blue » leather.
Bugatti Chiron Profilée: The Last W16
Under the hood, there is a quad-turbo W16 8.0-liter engine capable of developing 1,600 horsepower and 1,600 Nm of torque. The maximum engine speed has been pushed to 6,900 rpm. With a top speed of 261 mph, or 420 km/h, the Chiron can reach 0 to 100 km/h in less than 2.5 seconds, 12.4 seconds to reach 300 km/h, and only 5.5 seconds to cross the 200 km/h mark. Only Koenigsegg can do better!
Bugatti Chiron Profilée: A Charity Auction
A percentage of the sale of the Bugatti Chiron Profilée will be donated to charities. The French hypercar has only 396 km on the odometer, the distance necessary for testing.
